TECHNICAL DETAILS ABOUT ACUITy

We consider ACUITy to be in an alpha development stage and invite contributions and feedback. A few key things to note: we developed ACUITy on Windows 2000/XP using an Eclipse environment and Protege as our ontology editor. However, the ACUITy editor, which is automatically created as part of new ACUITy-powered applications, is intended to provide a more intuitive way to extend the core ontology and thereby create application functionality. While key concepts in the APVF ontology are (or will be!) described via more up-to-date comments properties in the ontology, we include an introductory reference below. Instructions for setting up an ACUITy developer's or user's environment are available under How to Use ACUITy.
